A calmer daycare search
One application, every waitlist
Fill in your family profile once. We send it to every program you pick, by email or through the program's own form, from an address made for your family.
Every licensed program, not just the ones that signed up
Centres, preschools and licensed home daycares across Metro Vancouver, each labelled with its care type, ages and $10 a Day or fee reduction status.
Know where you stand
Your tracker shows each list you're on, your place in line when the program shares it, and when a spot might open. Replies are sorted for you.
Stay active without the phone calls
Polite check-ins on each program's own schedule keep you on the list, and a text reaches you the moment an offer or a matching opening appears.
How it works
- 1
Tell us about your family
Your child, start date, days and where you live and work. About eight minutes.
- 2
Pick your programs
We build a shortlist of programs that take your child's age, within your distance. Add or remove any.
- 3
Approve and send
Read each application before it goes. We send them all, and your tracker fills in as programs reply.
- 4
Get the call
We check in for you, sort replies, and text you when an offer or a fitting opening comes up.
A free portal for your program
Spend less time on the phone and keep your waitlist tidy. No software to install and nothing to pay.

Questions
Is Daycare Discoverer for parents or for programs?
Both. Parents use it to apply to and stay on waitlists. Programs get a free portal to manage the families who applied, post openings and keep their page up to date.
Is it only for licensed child care?
Every program comes from the BC government's child care data: licensed centres, preschools and family daycares, plus registered home daycares. Each one is labelled with its type so you always know which kind it is.
Does a daycare have to join for me to apply?
No. We apply by email or through the program's own online form, the same way you would. Programs that claim their free portal can also update your place in line directly.
How much does it cost?
Your profile, shortlist, tracker and check-ins are free, and your first 5 applications are free too. After that it's $10 per application, with no subscription. Programs never pay, and we never charge waitlist or placement fees.
What does a daycare receive?
One clear email per family with the child's name, birth date, start date, days and hours, and how to reach the parents. Replies go straight to the family. A family checks in no more than once every four weeks.
Who sees my family's information?
The programs you approve an application to, our small team when something needs a person, and the services that deliver our email and texts. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
More in our privacy policy and terms.
